Every Sitter Meets Rigorous Standards Before Connecting with Families

Sex Offender Background Check

Every Parent and Sitter on Bambino is screened through the Family Watchdog sex-offender registry. Anyone flagged is immediately blocked from the platform.

Phone & Carrier Verification

We use trusted technology partners ( Telesign + Twilio) to verify phone numbers and block burner or VoIP lines—ensuring every user has a traceable, valid mobile number.

Identity Confirmation

Sitters complete an identity check through Stripe Identity. This includes Social Security verification to confirm they are who they say they are.

Community Recommendation

Before a profile goes live, every Sitter must be recommended by someone in the Bambino community. These genuine endorsements from Parents and Sitters ensure each new Sitter starts with a foundation of trust.

Criminal Background Checks & Ongoing Monitoring

Sitters who earn a background-check badge complete county, state, and national screenings through Checkr. Elite Sitters also receive continuous monitoring, with real-time alerts and automatic re-checks if new records appear.

Stripe Identity is a secure, third-party verification platform used by leading marketplaces to confirm user identities and reduce fraud.

How do you screen Parents?Expand

In the Bambino community, our aim is to establish solid connections between neighborhood Parents and Sitters. Bambino is all about making these connections easier, convenient, and safer. We firmly believe that trust is nurtured through physical and social proximity, and our goal is to create a community where neighbors and friends validate each other.

Make Connections and Stay Informed

  • Connect with Friends on the App: By linking your phone contacts and browsing the Community tab, you can add friends to your Favorites, helping you see any mutual connections with families requesting your services.
  • Check Parent Verification: Look to see if the parent has previously completed a sit through the app with another Bambino Sitter.
  • View Essential Information: Review the parent’s name and address before accepting a sit request.
  • Provide Feedback: After ending the sit, submit feedback about your experience. Any negative feedback is carefully reviewed by our Bambino Member Care Team.
  • Opt-Out Option: If you prefer not to sit for a family again, choose the “thumbs down” option, hiding your profile from the family’s future searches.
